what survey data is good for in starfield
Should I hold onto my survey data?
Surveying planets in the Starfield universe can be a good way to explore the massive open world of Starfield, including discovering new species, new outposts and challenges, building up your arsenal and your fleet, and it's the best way there is to amass a lot of wealth by collecting materials and loot to sell. Every time you discover all of the florae and faunae and natural features of a celestial body, a data pad of said body's is added to the "Notes" category of your inventory menu. These data pads of survey data range in value from the hundreds to the thousands, and they can be sold at lots of vendors throughout the settled systems for cold hard credits. Except for a few minor side quests, these survey data have no other purpose than to pad your pockets. I like to sell my survey data at booksellers, such as at Sinclair' Books in Akila City on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne system, 21.564 light years from the Alpha Centauri system.
